How to cancel subscription on eBay
How to cancel subscription on eBayeBay is a great way to find deals on items you need or want. eBay charges sellers and buyers different fees for each sale and purchase on the site. If you are a seller, eBay will take fees related to your sales as part of your eBay Store subscription. eBay has several different types of subscriptions, including eBay Stores for Businesses and Premium eBay Stores (also called Advanced eBay Stores). You can cancel your eBay Store subscription at any time by following these steps:
If you are not an eBay Store or eBay Premium Store subscriber, eBay will not charge you monthly fees. In this case just cancel your eBay account when you do no longer want to use eBay any more. You may close your eBay account through the Account Settings page at any time. To do so, click on ‘Account’ and choose the ‘Close My Account’ link in the drop-down menu next to ‘My eBay’.
You can specify a reason for closing your eBay account: “I’m moving out of my home and I won’t need eBay” or “I’ve found another site that I prefer”“. Your cancellation will then be complete after about one month’s time, which is necessary due to legal reasons related to payments from eBay buyers in progress.
If eBay is still charging you for eBay Store subscriptions or eBay Premium Stores, check your eBay item listings first and make sure that they are active and up-to-date but also listed in PayPal at eBay – i.e. [email protected] . If this is not the case then log into your eBay account, click on ‘Account’ -> ‘Subscriptions’, unselect all subscriptions and you will be able to proceed with closing down your eBay Store subscription. Note that you have fewer options for cancelling eBay Premium Stores except if you have already setup an eBay Bulk Inventory upload of a product list (in which case change the file type from CSV to TXT or delete it within 30 days).
To get started with one of our business tools, please visit the Subscriptions – opens in new window or tab section below My eBay. Select Subscribe next to the tool you’d like to try and then click Continue. If you have any questions about your choices or want to start over, please contact us at
The fees for listing an item on eBay mainly depend on the type of listing you are making and how much it sells for. If you use a third party payment system, we will send you monthly invoices, and these can be paid with PayPal, credit card or direct debit payments.
If you choose managed payments via our website (and this is optional) then your fee will depend on your bank account type.
Before submitting a listing, make sure you have read through the page and all the fees. Make sure there are no hidden up-charges on your transaction.
When you first subscribe, you’ll choose between automatic monthly or yearly renewals.
Starting April 1, sellers will have to include shipping and final value fees in a bid.
