Install a Wi-Fi Analyzer App
You can install and download an app from the App Store to obtain information. For example, if you use use an Apple AirPort router, you can install the AirPort Utility App. This app also lets you access to your network info even if the router is of a different brand.
Once you’ve installed the app, tap Settings and look for the AirPort Utility icon, tap it and toggle on the Wi-Fi scanner.
Next, open the app and tap Wi-Fi Scan. Scan to gain access to your list of networks. Tap the network to display various information, including the type of band.
Note that keeping the Wi-Fi scanner on can drain your battery faster, so remember to toggle it off when not in use.
